Happy Memorial Day!
Sorry, that's the only patriotic song I know. Maybe they'll teach me some more in Congress. Maybe I'll learn to play the piccolo!
I spent my holiday out stumpin' on the campaign trail. Turns out campaigning is hard work. Rubbin' elbows with the who's who, schmoozin', kissin' puppies and all that. I sure hope being a Congressdog isn't this much work!! I'm not worried, though. I'll bring my CHICKEN to do all the grunt work.
I decided to officially launch the campaign at the Mutt Strut 2005. It's a benefit for the Humane Society, so I figured I would get lots of support from the puppy-loving locals. After all, I came from humble beginnings, too! I remember it like it was just yesterday...
I was born in a log cabin in rural Kentucky. (Just like Lincoln!! The coincidence is uncanny!!!) Then I ended up at the Lexington Humane society with a bad case of worms. (Bummer for Lincoln if he had them too, I really wouldn't know) Then POOF! I was adopted. And now I'm running for Congress. That's a success story for you.
I've given my campaign manager the afternoon off. She just couldn't handle all the excitement. So I'll be discussing my next stop on the campaign trail with my CHICKEN. My CHICKEN seems to think that I should campaign abroad. Hmmm. He did say to stay away from Corbin. I would have thought he'd be very excited about the World Chicken Festival. I know I am!! So who knows where I'll end up next. I might be in your town. Pack a pocketful of bacon for me, just to be safe!
